America's oldest chartered outdoor festival, Morgan City's five-day Labor Day celebration on the Atchafalaya Basin honours the twin pillars of the Cajun coastal economy - the shrimping fleet and offshore oil industry - with a blessing of the shrimp fleet, a seafood cook-off, Cajun and Creole food, and live music.
