Villagly is a curated directory of village and countryside events across the UK, operated as a sole trader under the trading name Villagly, of 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Villagly is the data controller. We are built to collect as little as possible: no tracking cookies, no advertising, and we never sell data.

What we collect

villagly.com is a content and discovery site, with no accounts, newsletter, or submission form. Only a few things reach us. First, privacy-friendly analytics: we use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless, collects no personal data, and does not track you across other sites; its figures are anonymous, aggregated, and processed within the EU. Second, any email you choose to send us, which we use only to reply. Third, if you choose to leave a voluntary tip, the payment is handled by Ko-fi and its payment processor Stripe under their own privacy policies; we never see your card details, though we may see the name and email you give to Ko-fi, which we use only to thank you and for our own records. Because the analytics is cookieless, the site sets no tracking cookies and needs no consent banner. If we ever add a form, newsletter, or accounts, we will update this policy first.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. We hold very little, so most requests are simple. To make one, contact us below, or contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Other sites and links

Event listings link to organisers' own websites, which have their own privacy practices that we do not control. Some accommodation links are affiliate links: if you book through them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. On each event page you can open an interactive "where to stay" map provided by Stay22; it loads only when you choose to open it, and at that point Stay22 processes your request under its own privacy policy. We do not pass any personal data to Stay22 ourselves.
