Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 May 2026
This policy explains how Villagly handles information when you visit villagly.com. We have built Villagly to collect as little as possible. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not set cookies for tracking.
Who we are
Villagly is a curated directory of village and countryside events across the UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is the operator of Villagly. You can reach us at hello@villagly.com.
What this covers
villagly.com is currently a content and discovery site. There are no user accounts, no newsletter signup, and no live submission form. The only ways information reaches us are through privacy-friendly analytics and any email you choose to send us. If we add a form, a newsletter, or accounts in future, we will update this policy before that feature goes live.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (for example, which pages are popular). Plausible is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, it does not collect personal data, and it does not track you across other websites. The measurements are anonymous and aggregated, so we cannot identify individual visitors. Plausible processes this data within the EU. See our Cookies and Analytics statement for detail.
Email contact
If you email us (for example to suggest or list an event), we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message. We use it only to reply and to act on your request, such as adding an event to the directory. Our basis for handling this is our legitimate interest in responding to you. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose and routine record-keeping, then delete it.
Cookies
We do not set tracking or advertising cookies. Because our analytics is cookieless, no cookie consent banner is required. Full detail is in our Cookies and Analytics statement.
Links to other sites
Event listings link out to organisers' own websites and ticketing pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to read the policy of any site you visit from a Villagly link.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the right to ask what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. Because we hold very little (essentially only any email you send us), most requests are simple. To exercise any right, email hello@villagly.com.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site develops. Where the change is significant, such as adding a feature that collects more information, we will update the policy before that feature goes live and change the date at the top.
