Romaria de São João d'Arga
One of Portugal's most untouched mountain romarias, pilgrims climb Serra d'Arga to a Romanesque monastery chapel, give alms to both the saint and the devil, then spend the night in improvised concertina-and-singing duels known as desgarradas.
