Romaria de Nossa Senhora dos Aflitos
In this tiny Alijó village in the Douro hills, a six-day romaria lasting over 178 years features tableaux vivants on the procession andores (floats) performed by local villagers, spectacular fireworks and a fair franca, widely regarded as one of the best-organised festas in Trás-os-Montes.
