Romaria de Nossa Senhora da Peneda
The largest romaria of the Alto Minho takes place inside Peneda-Gerês National Park, where thousands of Portuguese and Galician pilgrims climb a baroque stairway of 20 chapels to a mountain sanctuary, fill the terreiro with concertina music and improvisational singing duels through the night of 6 September.
