Declared a Fiesta de Interes Turistico Nacional, Los Escobazos fills the streets of Jarandilla de la Vera with fire every 7 December as locals greet one another with blazing broom torches (escobas de retama) in a roaring pastoral custom rooted in the shepherds of La Vera sierra.
