Festa Major i Baixada de Falles d'Alins
The remote Pallars Sobirà village of Alins stages its Festa Major alongside the Baixada de Falles, an ancient fire custom in which blazing pine torches are carried down the mountain at nightfall, a tradition rooted in pre-Christian solstice rites and listed among Catalonia's most spectacular popular customs.
