Held since 1956 at the high-altitude MacRae Meadows on Grandfather Mountain, this 70th-edition gathering of Scottish clans sets caber toss, pipe bands, and Highland dance against a Blue Ridge landscape uncannily reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands, with proceeds funding Avery County scholarships.
