Each August, the old mercury-mining town of Idrija celebrates its UNESCO-recognised pasta speciality, žlikrofi, with certified producers competing in dumpling preparation, chefs presenting inventive sauces, and hunting clubs slow-cooking game-based bakalca alongside local wineries.
