Slovenia's most beloved alpine custom: shepherds lead flower-garlanded Cika cattle down from the Julian Alps to the meadow at Ukanc, accompanied by brass bands, folk dancers, and a buckwheat-porridge farmhouse kitchen, in a tradition unbroken since the 1950s.
