Giorti Kastanou Kastanitsas (Γιορτή Κάστανου Καστάνιτσας)
Running since 1983 in a stone-built Tsakonian village on the forested slopes of Mt Parnonas, this institution of Greek rural culture pairs chestnut harvesting with bean soup, boiled goat, a chestnut-spoon contest for children, tsipouro, and traditional dancing.
