Chestnut Festival
The western Cretan village of Elos, ringed by ancient chestnut groves near Kissamos, celebrates its autumn harvest on the third Sunday of October with chestnut-inspired dishes, tsikoudia, traditional folk dancing, and costumes, drawing visitors to one of Crete's most atmospheric seasonal festivals.
