More than 15 hidden gardens open in one of Surrey's most photographed villages, tucked between the North Downs and the Tillingbourne stream with roses round every corner.
Shere is one of the most completely realised medieval-to-vernacular villages in the Home Counties, and the church, the ironstone streetscape, and the Tillingbourne setting together make a genuinely rare half-day even before you account for the Surrey Hills walking on every side.
