Every other August Bank Holiday since 2000, this compact Bedfordshire market town throws a four-night community extravaganza of music, food and outdoor entertainment that the whole village runs.
A genuine small market town with a handsome Georgian square, a Grade I church, 41 listed buildings and a real-ale brewery all within a short walk - enough to reward a purposeful half-day visit without overstaying.
