Haxey Hood
A vast rolling rugby scrum, the sway, pushes a leather hood to one of four pubs, a custom said to be 700 years old.
Haxey punches above its size with a genuinely exceptional medieval church and the ancient Haxey Hood tradition, but outside those anchors the village offers little to detain a visitor beyond a pub lunch.
