Great Northern Road Run
A convoy of up to twenty coal-fired steam engines rolls through Tyrone on a summer Friday, filling Hotel Rue car park in Omagh with hissing steel and live music in one of Northern Ireland's most spectacular and unusual public spectacles.
Omagh is a busy county town with a genuine heart - the twin-spired Sacred Heart Church alone earns a stop, and the river, the market, and the Ulster American Folk Park nearby give a visitor enough to fill half a satisfying day.
