In the remote Channel Country on the edge of the Simpson Desert, camels thunder down the red-dirt track in Australia's longest and richest camel race, the 1200-metre Better Beer Camel Cup, surrounded by lawn mower races, yabby sprints, camel tagging and campfire nights under big outback skies.
